I got hooked on photography—fine art photography— the first night I
spent in the darkroom, printing a roll of black and white film. For me it was like falling down a rabbit hole. I was in Wonderland. I fell in love with photography and never looked back.
Since then I have taken dozens of photography and art classes from many wonderful teachers. I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to take classes in Paris and in Italy. I've had the pleasure of shooting my camera on 5 of the 7 continents.

A few years ago I began teaching photography classes at Fogbelt Studios. This was natural for me since I love to teach, almost as much as I love to make art. My first job out of college was teaching junior high. When I moved to San Francisco I joined the corporate world and even there, teaching and developing people's skills was an important part of my job.
I'm thrilled to be able to offer classes here in my studio, to teach people: how to work their camera; how to be better image makers; how to create beautiful works of art; and how to get the work they create out into the world. Come take a class with me and let me help you develop your skills.

About Last Avenue Studio
Last Avenue Studio is owned by me, Roxanne Worthington, and was established to offer photo based classes in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I specialize in offering small classes (most are just three or four people). The classes are 'hands on' and designed to respond to the needs and wants of individual students. The goal of each technical class (like how to use your camera or how to edit images) is to simplify complicated information so that by the time you leave the class you have a new skill. The goal of every class is to have fun, learning through doing.
I also offers private tutorials for a wide range of photo related topics, including printing, preparing for portfolio reviews, marketing for photographers and portfolio presentation. I'm also available for group presentations and will put together custom classes in any photographic area that I am skilled in.
